Round Steak With Rich Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef round steak (1 inch thick)
    1/3 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    1/2 c. water
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
Preparation
    Sprinkle one side of meat with half the flour and pound in with mallet or edge of heavy saucer.
    Turn meat and pound in remaining flour.
    Cut into six or eight serving pieces.
    Melt shortening in large skillet and brown meat slowly and thoroughly over medium heat, 15 to 20 minutes.
