Strawberry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick oleo
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/4 c. milk
    about 3 c. berries
Preparation
    Melt oleo in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    In a saucepan, put water and sugar.
    Heat long enough to melt sugar.
    Set aside.
    Make up batter as if you would pie crust (flour, shortening and milk).
    Divide in half.
    Roll half out on floured wax paper.
    Cut into strips about 1 1/2-inches wide.
    This you will lay in bottom of pan with melted oleo.
    Add fruit.
    Roll out the other half of the dough and cut in 1/2-inch strips.
    Lay this on top of the fruit.
    Now pour water and sugar mixture over all.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    You may use peaches or blackberries.
