Bulgogi - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, thinly sliced
    1 tsp. fresh ginger, grated
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 c. mirin (cooking sake)
    6 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 Tbsp. crushed toasted sesame seed
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. sesame oil
    1 1/2 lb. lean beef
Preparation
    Put sesame seed in frying pan over medium heat.
    Shake pan frequently.
    Seeds will turn light brown in 2 to 3 minutes. Remove seeds and crush.
    Cut beef across the grain into long thin (1/8-inch thick) slices.
    In a bowl, mix all ingredients together except steak.
    Add meat to mixture last and marinate at least 2 hours.
    Remove meat from marinade and grill about 4 inches above solid bed of glowing coals.
    Serve over fried or white rice.
    This recipe will not taste the same if the meat is not grilled.
