Strawberry Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry jello
    3 1/2 c. hot water
    1 c. mashed strawberries, frozen or fresh
    2 large bananas, mashed
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    8 oz. sour cream
Preparation
    Mix jello with boiling water and let set until it begins to jell.
    Mix strawberries, banana and pecans, then mix into chilled jello.
    Pour half of strawberry mixture into an 8 x 8-inch or 6 x 10-inch Pyrex dish and place in refrigerator.
    Hold other half out and stir occasionally to keep from jelling.
    When refrigerated jello is firm enough, spread sour cream over the top and pour on the remaining jello mixture.
    Refrigerate several hours before serving.
