Chocolate Chip Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. light brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. plain flour
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    nuts (optional)
Preparation
    In bowl, sift salt, baking soda and flour.
    Into this, cream the shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
    Stir into mixture 1/2 package of chocolate chips.
    Pour mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 12-inch pan.
    Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
