Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. raisins
    2 c. jam
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together, add yolks of eggs.
    Mix well. Put
    soda
    in
    milk
    and add to other ingredients.
    Sift flour and
    spices
    together.
    Add
    to butter mixture.
    Fold in beaten egg whites and add jam, nuts and raisins last.
    Bake in 3 (9-inch) pans at 375\u00b0 until toothpick comes out clean.
