Pasta Sauce "California Style" - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. fresh tomatoes, diced
1 to 2 Tbsp. garlic powder (not garlic salt!!)
1/2 can tomato puree
1 tsp. sugar or honey
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1/3 c. parsley flakes
2 to 3 Tbsp. tomato paste
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Heat oil in a 3-quart saucepan or skillet with high sides. Add diced tomatoes.
Cook, covered, over medium heat for about 15 minutes or until tomatoes are soft.
Add parsley flakes or basil, garlic powder, sugar and tomato paste. If sauce is not liquid enough, add tomato puree to reach the desired consistency.
Just before serving, stir in salt.
Garnish pasta with fresh grated Parmesan cheese.
