Apple Cider Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 c. coarsely chopped apples
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sweet cider
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with cider to creamed mixture.
Stir in lemon juice, raisins and nuts.
Fold in apples.
Pour into greased loaf pan.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool 10 minutes in pan and remove to rack to cool completely.
