Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium size head cabbage
    1/2 c. oil
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. salt
    3 heaping tsp. mustard
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
Preparation
    For dressing, bring to boil water, sugar and vinegar, then add oil; bring to boil again.
    Set off heat.
    Add the mustard, mayonnaise, celery seed and salt.
    I put in blender to mix.
    Keep in refrigerator until time to pour over shredded cabbage a while before serving time.
    Finely chopped carrot, apple, pineapple or green pepper may be added if desired.
    I always get asked to bring this to dinners.
