Pumpkin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    4 eggs, beaten
    1 (1 lb.) can pumpkin
    2/3 c. water
    3 1/3 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    2/3 c. chopped walnuts
    2/3 c. chopped dates
Preparation
    Cream together sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Stir in eggs, pumpkin and water.
    Sift together all dry ingredients and add gradually to pumpkin mixture.
    Add nuts and dates and blend well.
    Turn batter into 2 greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/4 hours.
    Makes 2 loaves.
