Ginger Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add egg, molasses and water; mix. Add remaining ingredients; mix until blended.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake until almost no indentation remains when touched, about 8 minutes.
    Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
    Cool. Frost with Vanilla Butter Frosting.
    Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
