Jambalaya - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. diced onion
1/4 c. diced green pepper
1 lb. ground beef
1 large can tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 small bay leaf
1 1/2 c. packed precooked rice
Preparation

Melt butter in skillet at medium heat.
Add onions, peppers and beef.
Cook, stirring often.
Drain fat.
Drain tomatoes, measuring juice.
Add water to make 1 1/2 cups.
Add liquid and spices to skillet.
Cover; simmer 5 minutes.
Stir in rice; cover and simmer 5 minutes longer.
Discard bay leaf.
