Red Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour (all-purpose)
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. shortening (Spry or Crisco)
1 3/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs, separated
3/4 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Add cocoa and soda to water; let stand until rest of cake is mixed.
Cream butter and sugar gradually.
Add well beaten egg yolks.
Add sifted flour alternately with milk.
Add cocoa mixture.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Add vanilla.
Pour into well greased loaf or layer cake pans and bake in 350\u00b0 oven. Frost with fudge frosting.
