Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry gelatin
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. hot water
3 c. Cool Whip
1 1/2 c. sliced fresh strawberries
9-inch single crust baked pie shell
Preparation

Mix the strawberry gelatin dessert with sugar in a small bowl. Heat 3/4 cup water in a saucepan until very hot.
Pour water over gelatin and sugar.
Stir with wooden spoon to dissolve it.
Put the bowl into refrigerator about 20 minutes so gelatin will be thickened, but not set.
Fold Cool Whip into gelatin.
