Crock-Pot Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 to 14 Jonathan apples
    2 c. cider
    sugar
    cloves
    cinnamon
    allspice
Preparation
    Wash apples; do not peel.
    Cut in quarters and remove core. Cook apples and cider slowly in a heavy kettle until done.
    Put through a food mill or sieve.
    Measure sieved fruit.
    Place in crock-pot.
    Add 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon allspice and 1/2 teaspoon cloves for each pint of fruit.
    Mix well.
    Cover crock-pot.
    Cook on high for 6 to 8 hours.
    Stir about every 2 hours.
    After 3 hours, remove cover so that fruit will cook down.
    Place in hot sterilized jars.
    Process to seal. Makes approximately 5 pints.
