Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. light or dark corn syrup
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. roasted peanuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine in saucepan the first 5 ingredients.
    Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
    Add peanuts. Cook, stirring frequently, to hard crack or until small amounts separate into hard brittle threads when tested in very cold water. Add vanilla; pour into buttered sheet pan.
    Cool, remove and break up.
