Goetze'S Caramel Cream Brownies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
36 unwrapped pieces of Goetze's caramel creams
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 Tbsp. margarine
1 c. chopped walnuts, optional
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350.
Combine chocolate and butter.
Melt over very low heat.
Cool slightly.
Whisk eggs until frothy.
Add sugar, vanilla, and salt.
Beat on high speed for 5 minutes or until completely smooth. Stir in chocolate mixture and add flour. Beat just until blended.
Pour 1/3 to 1/2 of the brownie mix into a lightly greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Cover bottom of the pan.
Bake 10 minutes at 350.
Combine Goetze's caramel creams, evaporated milk, and margarine.
Stir frequently over medium - low heat and remove from heat when smooth.
Remove brownies from oven and spread caramel cream mixture on top of the cooked brownies. Sprinkle nuts on top.
Cover with remaining brownie mix.
Bake additional 25 to 30 minutes at 350.
Cool for 2 hours in pan at room temperature to set caramel.
