Sauteed Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. potatoes
    salt to taste
    2 Tbsp. vegetable or corn oil
    2 Tbsp. butter
    freshly ground pepper to taste
    1 tsp. chopped garlic
    2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
Preparation
    Wash the potatoes and put them in a saucepan.
    Add water to cover and add salt.
    Bring to a boil and simmer until tender, about 30 minutes.
    Drain.
    When cool enough to handle, peel and slice the potatoes in thick slices.
