Ice Water Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    6 onions, sliced
    2 small bell peppers
    2 garlic bulblets
    1/2 c. salt
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers, onions, peppers, garlic and salt in ice water for 3 hours, then drain off water.
    Mix together sugar, vinegar, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed and place first mixture in this mixture.
    Cook until cucumbers change color.
    Makes 4 quarts.
