Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sifted flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Mix cinnamon and sugar in small bowl and set aside.
    Cream shortening and sugar; add egg.
    Mix until smooth.
    Blend dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Roll mixture into balls the size of walnuts.
    Roll balls in sugar/cinnamon mixture until covered.
    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes (cookies will puff up at first, then flatten out).
    Cool on cooling rack.
    Makes about 2 1/2 dozen 2-inch cookies.
