Frosted Apple Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    milk
    1 egg yolk
    6 c. sliced apples
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    butter
Preparation
    Mix shortening, flour and salt as for pie crust.
    Add enough milk to egg yolk to measure 2/3 cup liquid.
    Add liquid to shortening mixture and stir quickly with fork.
    Turn on floured board.
    Knead 2 to 3 times.
    Divide in half.
    Roll to fit jelly roll pan (10 x 15-inch).
    Spread apples along with sugar and cinnamon and dot with butter.
    Roll out remaining crust and place on top, tucking in edges.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Prepare glaze.
