Ba-Yama - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 (17 oz.) cans yams, drained and cut into 1/2-inch slices, or 2 lb. fresh sweet potatoes, sliced and cut
2 medium bananas, sliced
1/4 c. melted margarine or olive oil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. orange juice
1/2 c. flaked coconut
Preparation

Alternate layers of yams and bananas in a 1-quart casserole, ending with a layer of yams.
Stir together salt, corn syrup and orange juice.
Pour over yams and bananas.
Cover and bake in preheated 375\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven, pour off oil and sprinkle casserole with coconut.
Return to oven for 10 minutes to brown coconut.
Serves 6.
