Harvest Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium onions
    1 medium head cabbage
    10 green tomatoes
    12 green peppers
    6 red sweet peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    6 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    4 c. vinegar
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Grind vegetables; sprinkle with salt.
    Let stand overnight. Rinse and drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over vegetables.
    Heat to boiling.
    Simmer 3 minutes.
    Seal in hot jars.
    Yields 8 pints.
