Salted Peanut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. salted peanuts
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs and mix well.
    Add buttermilk.
    Combine soda, flour and vanilla together; add to creamed mixture.
    Grind peanuts.
    Add to cake mixture, saving some for topping the frosting.
    Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
