Squash Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 tender squash (1/2 doz.)
    1 egg
    1 small onion, minced
    1 c. bread crumbs
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cut squash and boil until tender; mash.
    Add egg, minced onion and enough bread crumbs to thicken batter.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Drop by spoonfuls in hot fat.
    Fry golden brown and serve hot.
    Yields 6 to 8.
