Glorified Gingerbread - cooking recipe

2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 Tbsp. molasses
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, soda and ginger. Cut in the shortening.
Reserve 1/2 cup to sprinkle on the top. Then add the egg, molasses, vinegar, water, milk and vanilla.
Put into an oblong cake pan.
Sprinkle the 1/2 cup crumbs on the top. Bake at 375\u00b0 until it begins to recede from the pan, about 30 minutes.
