Clams Al Forno - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    36 to 40 littleneck clams, scrubbed clean
    2 large onions, sliced thin
    1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
    1/2 tsp. dried red pepper flakes
    3/4 c. dry white wine
    2 Tbsp. minced garlic
    1 stick unsalted butter, cut up
    1 lemon, cut in 6 wedges
    3 scallions, cut thin
    1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. chopped, canned tomatoes
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 500\u00b0.
    Place clams in single layer baking dish.
    Scatter all the remaining ingredients, except the scallions and lemon wedges, over the clams.
    Roast the clams at 500\u00b0 for 9 minutes.
    Turn them and roast for 9 minutes longer, until they pop open.
    Discard any that don't open.
