Soft Caramels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 (1 lb. or 16 oz.) pkg. light brown sugar
dash of salt
1 c. light corn syrup
1 can Eagle Brand milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Melt butter.
Add sugar and salt.
Heat until sugar dissolves. Stir in corn syrup.
Gradually add Eagle Brand milk, stirring all the time.
Cook until this mixture reaches 245\u00b0.
Stir in vanilla. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch buttered pan; cool.
Cut into squares and wrap in waxed paper.
