Old-Fashioned Pecan Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 c. cake flour
dash of salt
4 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Cream well the butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Add milk, alternating with flour, beginning and ending with flour.
Stir in vanilla.
To make 6 thin layers, bake in iron griddle in moderately hot oven, about 375\u00b0 (it only takes a few minutes to bake each layer.)
Cool layers on wax paper; whip 1 pint whipping cream, adding 3/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla; continue whipping until thick.
Add 1 cup pecans, grated fine.
Stack each cake layer upside down with cream between each layer.
Top layer should be top side up dusted with powdered sugar.
Keep refrigerated until used.
