Swedish Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. grated rye bread
    3 1/2 oz. scant ???
    1/2 c. butter
    4 apples (1/2 pt. or 1 1/4 c.) lightly sweetened apple puree
    3 rounded Tbsp. scant ???
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    whipped cream (to serve)
Preparation
    Place the bread crumbs in a frying pan with butter and brown on moderate heat until the bread crumbs are crisp.
    Peel and core the apples; cut them into wedges.
    Butter an ovenproof dish.
    Put in alternate layers of bread crumbs, apples or puree and sugar; the top layer should be bread crumbs.
    Bake in a 400\u00b0 F or 200\u00b0 C oven for approximately 20 minutes.
    Serve directly from the dish with whipping cream.
