Date And Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. chopped dates
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. boiling water
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. nuts
    1 c. floured raisins
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix dates, baking soda and boiling water together; let cool. Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and line a loaf pan.
    Combine the eggs, butter, sugar, salt, nuts, raisins and vanilla.
    Add date mixture.
    Add flour and mix well.
    Turn into pan and bake for about 1 hour or until golden brown and firm to touch.
    Turn out and allow to cool before storing.
