Beefsteak Tomato And Asparagus Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. asparagus, trimmed
    2 large beefsteak tomatoes, cut into 3/4-inch thick slices
    1/2 c. olive oil
    1 bunch fresh basil, chopped
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    red leaf lettuce leaves
    4 oz. smoked Mozzarella cheese* or smoked Gouda cheese, shredded
Preparation
    *Available at cheese shops and some specialty food stores. Regular Mozzarella can be substituted.
