Cranberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. chopped nuts
    rind of 2 oranges
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. cooking oil
    1 c. diced dates
    1 c. cranberries, cut in half
    1 c. sugar
    juice of 2 oranges
    water
Preparation
    Cook over medium heat, sugar and juice of 2 oranges, adding water to make 1 cup.
    Bring to a boil.
    Brush over cake and let soak in.
    Refrigerate 3 days.
    Is also good to eat hot.
