Butter Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. self-rising flour
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. butter
2 c. sugar
vanilla
1 beaten egg
Preparation

Mix flour and shortening. Add buttermilk and mix. Add enough flour to work as a biscuit dough. Roll out in 2 portions real thin and cut in squares. Cut butter into small pieces and put 4 or 5 pieces on each dough square. Cover with sugar and drops of vanilla. Roll and pinch sides and ends. Put in buttered baking dish and bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes until brown.
