Mardi Gras Party Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. butterscotch chips
1/2 c. water
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Melt chips in water and cool.
Sift together flour, salt and baking powder; set aside.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Blend in eggs, 1 at a time; beat well.
Blend in melted chips.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Pour into two 9-inch round pans that are well greased and floured on bottoms.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool.
Spread filling in between layers and on top.
Frost sides with frosting or Cool Whip.
