Apple Walnut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 c. oatmeal
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/3 c. molasses
    1/2 c. melted shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
    2 c. sliced thin apples
Preparation
    Mix flour, salt and cinnamon; add remaining ingredients, except nuts and apples.
    Press 1/2 dough in greased 9-inch square pan.
    Sprinkle nuts and apples over dough.
    Put remaining dough on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cut into bars.
