Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
4 Tbsp. butter
pastry for 2 crust pie
Preparation

Combine sugar, flour, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Place half of apples in pie shell.
Squeeze 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice over them and top with half of the sugar-flour mixture.
Arrange rest of apples on top.
Sprinkle 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice and rest of sugar-flour mixture over apples.
Dot with butter.
Place top pastry over all.
Seal edges of crust, make 3 or 4 slices near center.
Brush top crust with a little beaten egg yolk and melted butter to glaze.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
Serve warm topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
