Moussaka(Meat Sauce) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    1 1/2 lb. ground chuck or lamb
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
    1 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    14 1/2 oz. tomato sauce with bits
    2 eggplants (1 lb. each), washed and dried
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
Preparation
    Saute onion, meat and garlic in hot butter in a 3 1/2-quart Dutch oven, stirring until brown (about 10 minutes).
    Add herbs, spices and tomato sauce and bring to boil, stirring.
    Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes.
    Halve unpared eggplants lengthwise; slice crosswise a 1/2-inch or less thick.
    Place in bottom of broiler pan; sprinkle lightly with salt and brush lightly with melted butter.
    Broil 4 inches from heat for 4 minutes each side or until golden.
    Next, make cream sauce.
