Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
4 to 5 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening together well.
Add eggs, sour cream, soda and vanilla mixture.
Stir in gradually flour and salt sifted together.
Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Roll out onto lightly floured board to 1/3-inch thickness.
Bake until light brown at 425\u00b0 for 5 to 7 minutes.
Sprinkle with sugar.
