Mom'S Strawberry Freezer Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. finely mashed strawberries
    4 c. sugar
    1 pkg. Sure-Jell
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Combine sugar and strawberries.
    Let stand 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir Sure-Jell into water; bring to a boil and boil rapidly for 1 minute. Stir constantly.
    Remove from stove.
    Add berries and stir 2 minutes. Pour into jelly jars. Cover and let stand at room temperature until jellied.
    This may take 2 hours or even 2 days.
    Seal with paraffin (I don't) and store in freezer.
    Makes great ice cream topping.
    Peaches can be used in place of strawberries to make a peach jam.
