Pineapple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 c. sugar
    1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
    1 container Cool Whip
Preparation
    Cook yellow layer in 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.
    Mix sugar with pineapple (syrup included).
    Pour over hot cake.
    Make pudding as directed.
    Pour over pineapple.
    Put Cool Whip over the pudding mix.
    Top with coconut and pecans, if desired.
