Marbled Pecan Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    3 1/2 c. extra fine sugar
    10 eggs
    4 c. plain or cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 oz. block unsweetened chocolate
    2 Tbsp. water
    3/4 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Melt chocolate with water and let cool.
    Sift flour and salt and set aside.
    Cream butter, shortening, cream cheese and sugar until very light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, alternating with the flour mixture, beating on medium speed while adding.
    Add vanilla and mix well.
    Remove about 4 cups of batter and mix with the chocolate.
    In a 10-inch greased and floured tube pan, layer the batter:
    vanilla, chocolate, vanilla, chocolate and vanilla. Take a knife and reaching to the bottom, swirl through the batter to make marbled effect.
    Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top and bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until done, beginning in a cold oven.
