Swiss Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. round steak, 1 inch thick
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
1/2 cup diced carrots
1 cup canned tomatoes
Preparation

Roll meat in flour and seasonings.
Cut into serving pieces. Combine vegetables, pour over meat.
Cover pan tightly and reduce heat to low and simmer slowly for about 1 1/2 hours.
Can be baked in a slow oven.
