Kraut Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Polish or smoked sausage
    1 large can sauerkraut, rinsed
    1/2 c. water
    1 lb. Swiss cheese, sliced
    8 c. cooked mashed potatoes
Preparation
    Slice sausage in 1-inch pieces. Cook with water and sauerkraut for about 1 hour; drain. Layer half of the potatoes, sauerkraut (with sausage), cheese and remaining potatoes.
    Bake for 45 minutes at 350\u00b0 in a 9 x 12-inch baking dish.
