Banana Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. flour
    2 mashed ripe bananas
    1/2 c. nuts
    1 tsp. flour
    1/2 c. coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Cream first 3
    ingredients
    until fluffy.
    Combine soda and flour.
    Add flour alternately with buttermilk and bananas. Stir in floured nuts (and
    coconut).
    Bake
    in 2 (9-inch) pans at 350\u00b0 until brown.
    Leave plain or ice with caramel or cream cheese frosting.
    Also bakes well in a Bundt pan.
