West Virginia Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 c. blackberry jam
1 c. black walnuts
1 c. raisins
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can coconut
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. allspice
Preparation

Run nuts, raisins and coconut through food chopper. Cream shortening and sugar together until fluffy. Add eggs. Add milk in which soda has been dissolved alternately with allspice and flour. Add jam. Add nuts, raisins and coconut by stirring in. Mix thoroughly and bake 1 hour in a tube pan at 350\u00b0.
