Overnight Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head shredded lettuce
    1/4 c. chopped green onions with tops
    1/4 c. diced celery
    1 c. sliced water chestnuts
    1 pkg. frozen green peas (uncooked)
    3 tsp. sugar
    1 pt. Hellmann's mayonnaise
    2 sliced tomatoes
    5 sliced hard-cooked eggs
    1 lb. bacon, crumbled
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Layer lettuce, onions and tops, celery, water chestnuts and peas in bowl.
    Cover tightly and refrigerate.
    Add sugar to mayonnaise and then layer in order, mayonnaise, tomatoes, eggs, bacon and Parmesan cheese.
    When ready to serve, toss.
