Beef Oriental(For Diabetics) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean round steak (1/4-inch thick)
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 1/2 c. hot water
    1 beef bouillon cube
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 crushed garlic clove
    1/8 tsp. ground pepper
    3/4 c. raw carrot strips (3 x 1/4-inch)
    1/2 c. celery, sliced diagonally
    1 c. green onion, sliced diagonally
    1 c. green pepper, sliced diagonally
    2 1/2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
    1/2 c. sliced water chestnuts
    1 to 1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. cold water
Preparation
    If time allows, partially freeze meat for easier slicing. Remove visible fat around outside of meat.
    Cut meat into thin strips, 3/4-inch long and 1/8-inch thick.
    Heat oil in large frying pan.
    Brown meat strips, stirring with wooden spoon.
    Add 1 1/2 cups hot water, beef bouillon cube, soy sauce, garlic and black pepper.
    Cover and simmer slowly for 40 minutes.
