Creamy Pralines - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
3/4 c. margarine, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
3 c. pecan pieces
1/2 to 1 tsp. almond extract
Preparation

Grease wax paper with margarine and set aside.
Combine sugar and next 5 ingredients in a large heavy saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring gently, until margarine melts.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture reaches soft ball stage or candy thermometer reads 238\u00b0 (about 15 minutes).
Remove from heat, stir in pecans and flavorings.
Beat with a wooden spoon just until mixture begins to thicken.
Working rapidly, drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto prepared wax paper.
Let stand until firm.
Makes 4 dozen.
