Frosted Cranberry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (13 1/2 oz.) can crushed pineapple (1 2/3 c.)
    2 pkg. lemon jello (3 oz.)
    1 c. ginger ale
    1 (1 lb.) can jellied cranberry sauce (2 c.)
    1 (2 oz.) pkg. dessert topping mix
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Drain pineapple, reserving syrup.
    Add water to syrup to make 1 cup.
    Heat to boiling.
    Dissolve jello in this; cool.
    Gently stir in ginger ale.
    Chill until partially set.
    Blend pineapple and cranberry sauce and fold in.
    Turn into 9 x 9 x 2-inch dish. Chill until firm.
    Prepare dessert topping according to directions.
    Fold in cream cheese.
    Spread over jello.
    Put pecans in 1 tablespoon butter in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Sprinkle over top of jello.
    Makes 9 servings.
